Sfregio, which means disfigurement, contains the repertoire of deep and contrasting emotions contained in the madrigals of the 16th century. Jealousy, tenderness, loneliness, passion, obsession, desire, frustration, love, lust and loss didn’t only inspire great poets such as Petrarch and Ariosto. Madrigals reflects the soul of the French-Flemish composers through an extremely personal music that expresses very intense emotions. With four voices that are full of life and the warm timbre of a lute, the programme offers a trip through those moving works that express a wide range of emotions and feelings.
