Located in the north of the Pallars Jussà region, La Vall Fosca (“The Dark Valley”) is an attractive scenery in which water, mountains, flora and wildlife diversity harmoniously coexist.
The Valley starts 800 m above sea level. Its highest town is Capdella (1,420 m), which ends up the ensemble of 19 rural villages. La Vall Fosca is composed of: La Pobleta de Bellveí, Estavill, Envall, Antist, Castell-estaó, Beranui, La Plana de Mont-ros, Astell, Obeix, Aguiró, Paüls, Pobellà, Mont-ros, Molinos, La Torre de Capdella, Aiguabella, Espui and La Central de Capdella.
The Flamisell river is the axis of the valley. Following its course means enjoying a changing landscape that will take you to the top of La Vall Fosca, where the cable car will give you access to the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park and its more than 30 wonderful lakes.
